Turkey reveals volume of chemical products transshipment by local ports in January 2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 10

A total of 1.3 million tons of chemical products were transshipped through the ports of Turkey in January 2022, Trend reports via Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey.

Ships flying the Turkish flag transported 84,759 tons of chemical products through local ports and ships flying the flags of other countries – 1.2 million tons during the specified period.

1,200 tons of chemical products were transported in transit through the ports of Turkey during this period.

The ports of Turkey handled 15.6 million tons of chemical products according to the results of 2021.

Ships under the Turkish flag transported 1.5 million tons of chemical products through local ports and ships under the flags of other countries – 14.1 million tons during this period.

A total of 23,942 tons of chemical products were transported in transit through the ports of Turkey last year.

The ports of Turkey handled 33.3 million tons of cargo in January 2022.

Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey amounted to 2.4 million tons during this period.

Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkey by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 30.9 million tons. Turkish ports handled 7.6 million tons of transit cargo during this period.

Turkish ports handled 386.3 million tons of cargo in 2021. Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey amounted to 29.9 million tons during the specified period.

Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkey by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 356.3 million tons. Turkish ports handled 78 million tons of transit cargo last year.
