BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. Turkish ports received 5,093 ships in May 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkiye told Trend.
According to the ministry, 1,750 of the total number of ships accepted by ports were under the Turkish flag, and 3,343 were under the flags of other countries.
Ministry noted that Turkish ports received 21,515 ships from January through May 2022.
"Number of 6,642 of the total sum of ships accepted by Turkish ports, were under the flag of Turkiye during this period, 14,873 were under the flags of other countries," the ministry said.
The ports of Turkiye received 51,199 vessels in 2021, including 15,120 under the Turkish flag.
The remaining 36,079 ships received by Turkish ports were under the flags of other countries.
