BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 28. The number of vehicles registered in Türkiye increased by 46.6 percent (to 112,709) in May 2022 compared to the same month last year, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUİK) told Turkic.World, Trend reports.
According to TUİK, the share of cars in the total number of vehicles in Türkiye was 41.4 percent during the reporting period, vans and trucks - 12.1 percent, motorcycles - 40 percent, tractors - 5.8 percent, other types of vehicles - 0.7 percent.
TUİK noted that Türkiye ranks sixth in the EU in terms of car production. Country assembles cars of TOGG, Ford, FIAT, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and MAN brands.
Local brands of buses are produced in Turkey, such as BMC, Temsa and Otokar.
