Turkish prime minister, Syrian’s president attends inauguration of Aleppo Stadium
( Cihan ) - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has attended the inauguration of Aleppo Olympic Stadium at the invitation of Syrian President Bashar al Assad.
PM Erdogan together with his wife on Tuesday arrived in Aleppo for the opening of the new stadium. Erdogan and Assad along with the first ladies.
Erdogan and Assad along with the first ladies greeted the supporters after they arrived at the stadium and watched the friendly match between Turkey's Fenerbahce and Syria's Al Ittihad together.
Almost 100,000 spectators were inside the stadium to watch the friendly and the festivities to mark the inauguration of the new stadium. Several dances and festivities were held before the friendly match, which ended with a 2-2 draw.
The three-storey stadium has a capacity of 75,000 spectators and it enjoys international technical specifications which entitle it to host international championships even for Olympic Games.
