Turkish parliamentary advisory board reveals final election calendar

( Cihan - Turkish Parliamentary Advisory Board set the final election calendar and revealed the dates for four voting sessions. Thus, the first session will be held on April 27, second on May 2, third on May 9 and the last on May 15.

While the opposition hasn't revealed its candidate yet, Prime Minster Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke at the regular group meeting of Justice and Development Party (AKP) and announced that Foreign Minster Abdullah Gul was their candidate for the presidential race.

Saying that all the researches pointed to only one name, Erdogan added that the parliament would elect the president and that the decision of the parliament would be the decision of the whole nation.

The parliament would, Erdogan said, choose the president in accordance with the will of the nation and the principles of the founder of modern Turkey Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
