( Cihan ) - A goods train was damaged when a mine planted by Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorist went of in Islahiye district of southeastern Turkish province of Gaziantep.

Turkish State Railways (TCDD) Area Manager Hasan Koprulu stated that the incident took place at 8.10 a.m. on the 13th tunnel between Feyzipasa and Ayran districts.

A train carrying marble and industrial goods to Syria from southern Turkish province of Adana was slightly damaged, according to Koprulu.

The blast almost led way to a serious accident as a passenger train used the same railway shortly before the blast and avoided the attack by minutes.

The gendarmerie halted the train at the location and the bomb disposal squad is to check out whether there are other explosive devices on the location.

Last year, a mine was activated on the same location but no harm was done as there weren't any vehicles on the rails.
