BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 22. Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Egypt has increased 4.5 times during the first six months of this year compared to the corresponding period in 2023, Azerbaijan's Minister of Digital Development and Transportation Rashad Nabiyev said at an event dedicated to Egypt's National Day, Trend reports.
"The official visit of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Egypt in June this year broke a new page in the history of our cooperation," he said.
Rashad Nabiyev noted that this year the countries celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
"Over thirty-two years, 49 bilateral documents have been signed, which has further strengthened relations between our countries," he said.
To note, diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on March 27, 1992. The Egyptian embassy in Baku has been functioning since April 1993, while the Azerbaijani embassy in Cairo has been functioning since January 1994.
