ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 29. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced his readiness to increase the quota for Mongolian students in Kazakhstan during a recent meeting with his Mongolian counterpart, President Ukhnaagiin Hurelsukh, Trend reports.
This announcement came during discussions held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia's capital.
During the talks, Tokayev emphasized the importance of supporting joint research into their shared historical heritage and highlighted the potential for collaboration in ecological, historical, ethnographic, and economic tourism.
"Kazakh tour operators are eager to introduce Mongolian tourists to the ancient city of Turkestan, home to the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yassaui, and the Ulytau region, where the mausoleum of Juchi Khan, the eldest son of Genghis Khan, is located, along with other notable tourist destinations. We are particularly interested in developing the Altai tourist cluster with Mongolia," Tokayev stated.
In response, President Hurelsukh described Kazakhstan as a vital partner and a reliable bridge between East and West. He noted that Ulaanbaatar is closely examining Kazakhstan's economic development experience and will focus on effectively implementing bilateral projects. Hurelsukh also extended an invitation for the President of Mongolia to make a state visit to Kazakhstan next year.
On October 28, President Tokayev arrived in Ulaanbaatar for an official visit at the personal invitation of President Hurelsukh. The two leaders engaged in both narrow and extended-format talks, culminating in the signing of a Joint Declaration to establish a strategic partnership.
