ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 29. Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), will be visiting Kazakhstan from October 31 to November 1, 2024, Trend reports.
Her trip will include discussions with senior government officials and representatives from multilateral financial institutions.
During her two-day visit, President Renaud-Basso is scheduled to meet with Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and hold a bilateral meeting with the leadership of the Asian Development Bank. She will also sign agreements for several sustainable infrastructure projects.
As part of her agenda, Renaud-Basso will co-chair a plenary session of the Foreign Investors’ Council, commemorating its 26th year of operation. Additionally, she will address the Global Businesswoman Council and officially open the EBRD's new office in Astana.
In her engagements, the EBRD President plans to discuss the significance of renewable energy for Kazakhstan's economy, the increasing role of public-private partnerships in addressing critical infrastructure needs, and the development of interregional connectivity and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
With over €10 billion invested in Kazakhstan across 330 projects, the EBRD has established itself as the largest and longest-running banking operation in Central Asia.
