BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 29. TotalEnergies has announced a significant discovery of additional gas condensate resources at the Harald East Middle Jurassic nearby exploration well (HEMJ-1X) in the Danish North Sea, Trend reports.
Located approximately 250 km off the west coast of Denmark in shallow waters, the HEMJ-1X well was drilled in the eastern part of the Harald field. It successfully encountered 48 meters of net gas condensate pay within a high-quality reservoir.
The company plans to connect the HEMJ-1X well to the existing Harald platform, with production expected to commence before the end of the year through the established Harald and Tyra facilities.
“The success of the Harald East Middle Jurassic well, located near our Harald facilities in Denmark, demonstrates the strength of our exploration strategy. This new discovery at the Harald field will enhance Denmark's energy supply by increasing our existing production in the North Sea, in alignment with the Danish National Compromise,” stated Kevin McLachlan, Senior Vice President of Exploration at TotalEnergies.
