BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 29. Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan discussed new directions for industrial cooperation, Trend reports via the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Economy and Commerce Daniyar Amangeldiev, and Tajikistan's Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabirov talked about promising areas for collaboration in industrial cooperation.
In the thick of discussions, the parties rolled up their sleeves and tackled issues concerning teamwork in fields like metallurgy, light industry, machine engineering, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and the production of construction materials.
The meeting resulted in an agreement to establish a joint working group to explore promising avenues for cooperation. The parties also decided to intensify the exchange of visits by official and business missions, as well as hold meetings between representatives of the business communities of both countries to further strengthen economic ties.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan reached approximately 394 billion soms (4.6 billion) from January through September 2024, which is a 4.2 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.
As per the country’s Statistical Agency, Tajikistan's total industrial production volume from January through September 2024 reached 36.3 billion somoni ($3.4 billion), up 15 percent from the first nine months of 2023.
