BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 24. Long-term OSCE observers will arrive in Azerbaijan at the end of July in connection with the snap parliamentary election scheduled for September 1, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan, Mazahir Panahov told reporters, Trend reports.
On June 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the dissolution of the Azerbaijani Parliament of the sixth convocation and the appointment of an extraordinary election to the Azerbaijani Parliament.
The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan has sent invitations to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), GUAM, the Youth Organization of the Non-Aligned Movement, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) to observe the parliamentary election.
Moreover, the Azerbaijani Parliament has sent invitations to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, CIS Parliamentary Assembly, TURKPA, Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC), Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), GUAM Parliamentary Assembly, Asian Parliamentary Assembly, Pan-African Parliament, Parliamentary Assembly of the Economic Cooperation Organization (PAECO), ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), Arab Parliament, International Congress of Parliamentarians (ICP), and the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP).
