( Irna ) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here on Tuesday urged the occupying forces to leave the Iraqi territories as soon as possible.
In a meeting with Head of United Iraq Coalition (UIC) Seyed Abdelaziz Hakim, the Iranian president termed formation of a popular government in Iraq as a significant development.
He added, "Presence of occupiers in Iraq has been the root cause of insecurity in that country and it is in their interest to leave the country as soon as possible."
The great victory belongs to the Iraqi Muslims since they are making efforts to establish a popular government in their country, he reiterated.
Expressing satisfaction with the growing trend of Iraqi developments, he called for success and prosperity of the Iraqi government and nation.
For his part, Hakim briefed Ahmadinejad on the latest developments in his country and appreciated Iran's continued role in supporting the process of establishment of a popular government there.
