BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 18. The Georgian city of Marneuli hosted a judo tournament named "Zafar" in honor of November 8 - Victory Day, Trend reports via the State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
The event took place at the "Integration Center of Azerbaijanis of Georgia," with 60 athletes competing across 12 weight categories.
The tournament began with the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Georgia, followed by a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War.
Murad Muradov, the Executive Director of the Integration Center, spoke at the opening ceremony, highlighting the significance of this day and wishing success to the participants.
The team from the Integration Center secured first place with nine gold medals. The Arıxlı team took second place with two gold medals, while the Tamarisi team finished third with one gold medal.
Notably, the Integration Center has been operational since 2019, offering chess lessons, language courses, and preparatory classes for preschool and university students. To date, numerous projects have been implemented with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
