Iran's ambassador to London to be recalled: lawmaker

Iran Materials 23 June 2009 14:11 (UTC +04:00)

Iran will recall its ambassador to London for consultations amid disputes over the country's presidential election, the official IRNA news agency quoted a senior lawmaker as saying on Tuesday.

Mahmoud Ahmadibighash, a member of parliament's national security and foreign policy commission, said that the decision to temporarily recall Iran's ambassador was made during a meeting between the commission and Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Xinhua reported.

Iran has condemned the interference by certain foreign states in the country's internal affairs, saying that some European countries, Britain in particular, have played a major role in provoking the post-election violence.
