Police detained one Iranian and three foreign journalists during meetings in Iran on the National Day of Combating International Imperialism on Nov. 4, Fars reported.
According to the information, the journalists, including one Japanese and two Canadian citizens, were arrested for working without journalist accreditation. An investigation is under way.
Every year on Nov. 4, official Iran celebrates the 30th anniversary of the seizure of U.S. Embassy in Tehran. On Nov. 4, 1979, Iranian revolutionary-minded students seized the embassy and held 53 Americans hostage for 444 days. Iranian Supreme Leader Khomeini declared Nov. 4 the National Day of Combating International Imperialism.
