Syrian Parliamentary Speaker Mahmoud al-Abrash is on an official visit to Iran upon Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani's invitation, Trend reports quoting ISNA News Agency.
Al-Abrash paid four-day official visit to Iran on Jan. 5. He will speak in the Iranian parliamentary session today. The major goal of Syrian speaker and his delegation is to develop interparliamentary relations.
"Iran and Syria are friendly countries. There are economic, political, diplomatic relations between the two countries. Al-Abrash's visit to Iran will develop the relations," Larijani said.
During the visit Al-Abrash will meet with his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani, Presdient Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, Head of Iranian Judiciary Ayatollah Sadig Larijani, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and Iranian State TV Head Izatullah Zargami.
Bahraini Parliamentary Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmad al-Zahrani will also pay 5-day official visit to Iran today.
Development of bilateral relations, regional and international issues will be on agenda.
