The government closed newspapers and websites and sealed offices of parties, including the Office of National Confidence Party (NCP) and my personal office, secretary general of the Iranian reformist NCP Mehdi Karrubi said.
"Despite the arrests of our friends, fire opened on my car and continued threats to my address, I will never give up on protecting the rights of the people," he was quoted as saying by the parties' website sahamnews.
"Various offensive actions were committed towards me and Mir Hussein Mousavi, but we will defend the Iranian people's interests. The most fundamental right of the people as expressed through the votes recorded on the ballots thrown in the ballot box," Karrubi said.
Karrubi said that until the last breath he will be with the Iranian people and do everything possible to hold free elections.
After the June 12 presidential elections in Iran, the opposition announced rigging the voting results. Reformist candidates Mir Hussein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi have reported extensive fraud in the elections. Observers say the protests, which began in Iran after the elections have become the largest since the 1979 Islamic revolution. They arrested hundreds of political activists and killed dozens of civilians.
