An Iranian woman has been killed and five others have been wounded in a drive-by shooting targeting buses carrying Iranian pilgrims in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
The attack occurred at 8:20 a.m. (0520 GMT) on a road in al-Adl district in the west of Baghdad on Wednesday, Press TV reported.
According to security officials, the attack also claimed the life of the driver.
"Two busses, carrying Iranian visitors, were attacked on Wednesday morning (January 27) by gunmen in the region between al-Adl and al-Shualla neighborhoods," the Baghdad operational command said in a statement.
"The attack killed one of the two drivers, an Iraqi, and an Iranian woman and wounded five, who were carried to nearby hospitals for treatment," the statement added.
Iraqi police and soldiers cordoned off the area following the attack, and launched an investigation into the incident.
