Pakistan, Iran agree on close consultations

Pakistan and Iran have agreed on the need for close consultations on fast developing situation in the region and underscored the importance of ensuring stability and peace, reported IRNA.


The agreement came in a meeting between Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali Fathollahi and Pakistani Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir at the Foreign Office.

Both sides also expressed satisfaction on the status of their bilateral relations and affirmed their desire to further strengthen their mutually beneficial cooperative ties, Pakistani Foreign Ministry said.

The Foreign Secretary and the Deputy Foreign Minister held detailed discussions on matters of common concern, including the developments in North Africa and the Middle East. In-depth exchange of views took place on the situation in Afghanistan. Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations were also reviewed.
