Iran 's annual non-oil products and services exports will reach more than $40 billion by the end of the Iranian year (March 20), an official at the Trade Promotion Organization said.

The deputy director of the organization pointed out that the rising trend of non-oil exports from Iran indicates that it will exceed $40 billion by the end of the year.

IRNA news agency quoted Kiyumars Fathollahi Kermanshahi as saying that Iran will be exporting $3.3 billion worth of technical and engineering services in the afore-mentioned time span.

He said that service exports include technical and engineering projects, tourism, IT services, transportation, etc.

Kermanshahi said the 149 percent increase in non-oil exports during the 4th Five-Year Social-Economic Development Plan (2005-2010) is praiseworthy.

He noted that the country made such progress while it faced threats, sanctions and the repercussions of the global financial crises that obstructed Iran's exports to some degree.
