Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a meeting with Omani Foreign Minister Yousef Bin Alawi pointed to the growing cooperation between Tehran and Masqat, and reiterated that consolidation of bilateral ties will benefit the Iranian and Omani nations, Fars news agency reported.
During the meeting in Tehran on Saturday, Ahmadinejad also said that commitment to the principles of peace, justice and fairness brings success and prosperity for the nations.
The Oman foreign minister, for his part, felicitated President Ahmadinejad on new Iranian year (started March 21).
He said some people are trying to exclude principles and values of the nations, adding that without doubt these actions are fruitless endeavors.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi also held talks with his visiting Omani counterpart on Saturday.
The two foreign ministers also conferred on the regional and international issues, and the developments in Bahrain in particular.
The Omani foreign minister arrived in Tehran to participate in Nowrouz festival of the Persian-speaking countries to be held in Tehran on Sunday.
Five presidents, deputy foreign ministers and ambassadors from regional countries celebrating Nowrouz are to attend the ceremony.
