Talks and withdrawal of military forces from Bahrain are the most appropriate ways to establish peace in the country, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said, ISNA reported.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in Baghdad on Wednesday, adding that, "there is no military solution to the issue of Bahrain and popular demands which are pursued peacefully by people should be considered in an appropriate way."

He called continuous presence of military troops in Bahrain an "inappropriate measure" and said deployment of the forces not only did not help resolve the issue, but also has made it more complicated.

Iraqi Prime Minister on his part expressed satisfaction over the process of bilateral relations and called for confronting goals of enemy in the region.

"Bahraini nation's demands should be pursued peacefully," he said.

"Some are trying to turn events in Bahrain into the fake issue of Sunni-Shiite dispute," al-Maliki noted.

"Circumstances in Bahrain can end undesirably if they are not managed wisely," Iraqi Prime Minister warned.

The two sides also discussed bilateral issues as well.

Iraqi Prime Minister voiced satisfaction over the process of mutual cooperation and stressed more official bilateral visits, joint measures to mark borders, environment cooperation and Iran's constructive role in rebuilding Iraq.

Salehi left Iraq on Wednesday for talks with authorities of the neighboring country.

Salehi is scheduled to meet with his Iraqi counterpart Hoshyar Zebari and other top officials of the country.

The talks will mainly focus on bilateral relations, regional and international developments, recent Middle Eastern issues and North Africa.

Iranian Foreign Minister has recently visited certain regional states including Qatar, UAE and Oman, as well as Turkey where he discussed current events in the region.
