The daily production of 7.3 million cubic metres of gas is a new record at Iran's Ilam refinery, Shana news agency reports.
Although the refinery's production capacity is nominally 6.8 million cubic metres, the cold weather that has gripped Iran's western provinces drove up demand for heat in Ilam and its neighbouring provinces.
As the only source of natural gas in the region, the Ilam refinery was able to increase its gas processing operations by half a million cubic metres a day.
