Drilling work has finished on the first well on Iran's South Pars Phase 13 well and reached gas deposits.
Next week, work will start on the getting drilling jackets into place while excavation equipment will move on to the second well.
Work on Phase 13's refinery is about 45 per cent complete, the building and design of sea platforms is 31 per cent complete and laying its pipeline is now about 32 per cent done.
Iran and Qatar share the 9700 square kilometre South Pars gas and oil field. Qatar, however, is far ahead of Iran in exploiting the field's resources. It has intensified developing South Pars while Iran suffers international sanctions and technical and financial obstacles.
