A two-day conference of the provincial heads of Iran's industry, mining and trade organizations has been postponed for them to supervise the efforts to get feed for livestock and poultry.

Mehdi Ghazanfari, Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade said that his ministry would try to keep prices stable for meal, corn and oats, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reports.

According to media, chickens at some poultry facilities were starving to death because feed was either unavailable or so expensive that growers couldn't buy it.

Ghazanfari acknowledged that a number of provinces didn't have enough feed to give to livestock and poultry growers.

Last week, 4,000 trucks loaded with meal left the Imam Khomeini Port on the Persian Gulf for Iran's provinces.
