BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 15. The volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan at current prices amounted to 7.2 billion manat ($4.2 billion) from January through July 2023, which is 13 percent higher year-on-year, Trend reports.
Production in livestock sphere in value terms increased by 17 percent (up to 3.4 billion manat or $2 billion), and in crop production - by 10 percent (up to 3.8 billion manat or $2.2 billion), according to Azerbaijan’s State Statistics Committee.
Some 2.9 million tons of cereals and leguminous crops were harvested from 899,800 hectares (94 percent of the total sown area) countrywide. The average yield was 32.2 centners per hectare.
Thus, 664,900 tons of potatoes (a decrease of 1 percent over the year), 1.2 million tons of vegetables (up to 4 percent), 388,800 tons of melons (up to 0.03 percent), 314,900 tons of fruits and berries (an increase of 1 percent), 8,100 tons of grapes (increased by 3 percent), and 717.2 tons of green tea (up to 15 percent) were harvested as of August 1.

Azerbaijan produced 327,000 tons of meat, 1.3 million tons of milk and 1.3 billion chicken eggs from January through July 2023. Production of meat increased by 3 percent, milk - by 1 percent, chicken eggs - by 12 percent year-on-year.

The volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan amounted to 10.9 billion manat ($6.4 billion) in actual prices in 2022, which is 3 percent higher than in 2021, livestock production in value terms increased by 3 percent (up to 5.4 billion manat or $3.1 billion) and in crop production - by 3 percent (up to 5.5 billion manat or $3.2 billion).
Moreover, the volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan in actual prices reached 9.1 billion manat ($5.3 billion) in 2021, which is 3 percent higher than in 2020. Livestock production increased by 2 percent (up to 4.6 billion manat or $2.7 billion) and crop production by four percent (up to 4.5 billion manat or $2.7 billion).
