BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 22. The European Union continues to fully support the normalization process between Baku and Yerevan, the European Commissioner for Employment and Social Rights Nicolas Schmit said today during a session of the European Parliament, Trend reports.
He pointed out that COP29 is a golden opportunity for peace.
“Azerbaijan and Armenia have never been so close to overcoming decades of conflict. The conference will be a historic chance for Azerbaijan and Armenia to demonstrate to the world their commitment to peace and to muster the political will to sign a peace agreement. As the European Union, we continue to lend our full support to the normalization process, and we stand ready to mobilize the necessary resources to allow all sides to reap the benefits of lasting and sustainable peace,” Schmit said.
