SHUSHA, Azerbaijan, October 22. The third group of Azerbaijanis from Georgia visited Shusha and Aghdam within the framework of the trip to the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation, Trend's Karabakh bureau reports.

According to the information, the third group's journey to Shusha and Aghdam commenced from the town of Khankendi.

This morning, a tour of Shusha city was arranged for the guests. In the city's center square, busts of renowned Azerbaijani figures—Natavan, Bulbul, and Uzeyir Hajibeyli—were displayed, having been targeted by Armenians. The guests were apprised of the city of Shusha and its status during the occupation.

Additionally, it was observed that historical edifices, mosques, and monuments in Shusha city experienced Armenian damage throughout the thirty years of occupancy. Following the city's liberation from occupation, extensive repair and construction efforts have commenced, with the restoration of historical and cultural landmarks. The guests acquainted themselves with the residence of poetess Khurshidbanu Natavan, the site of Khan Gizi Bulagi Spring, the fortress walls, Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque, and Isa Bulagi Spring. They observed the captivating landscape from the Jidir-duzu Plain.

The group toured the Aghdam district in the afternoon. The guests were apprised that the mosque, constructed between 1868 and 1870, endured destruction during the 30-year Armenian occupancy, similar to other historical and religious sites. The inhabitants maintained livestock within the Aghdam Juma Mosque. Following the liberation of Aghdam from occupation, the mosque was repaired by the Azerbaijani government.

The group members were also shown the wreckage of buildings destroyed by Armenians on the principal street of Aghdam city. Prior to the Armenian occupation, Aghdam was one of the largest and most developed cities in both the Karabakh region and Azerbaijan as a whole. Aghdam was devastated and reduced to rubble during the occupation. Following the freedom from occupation, extensive construction and installation activities commenced in Aghdam. Currently, development activities are underway in the city center and numerous adjacent villages, and the repatriation of the population to Aghdam will be facilitated shortly.

The six-day tour of Azerbaijani individuals from Georgia, divided into three groups, to the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from the Armenian occupation has concluded.
