BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. The loan portfolio of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) projects in Azerbaijan has totaled 787 million euros as of July 31, 2023, Trend reports.
In particular, the EBRD's loan portfolio is calculated for the implementation of 31 projects.
The EBRD stated that investments in sustainable infrastructure make up the majority of the portfolio (88 percent, or 692 million euros), followed by investments in the industry, trade, and agricultural sectors (9 percent, or 67 million euros), and investments in financial institutions (3 percent, or 28 million euros).
The Bank has made over 3.4 billion euros in total investments across 188 projects in Azerbaijan.
Additionally, the EBRD, the largest investor in Azerbaijan, has been working with the nation since 1992. A $750 million investment project portfolio is anticipated during the next three years. According to Kamola Makhmudova, Director of the EBRD office in Azerbaijan, the EBRD expects to spend $300 million in a number of industries in 2023, including energy, transportation, the private sector, SMEs, and the banking industry.
