Georgian PM discusses crisis responding issues with EU Representative

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with the Managing Director of the EU Crisis Response Department in the European External Action Service, Agostino Miozzo.

The parties discussed the issues of operational coordination and overcoming crisis situations, according to the Georgian government's press-service.

It was noted that the EU Crisis Response and Operational Coordination Department plays an important role in the security policy as a permanent body, carries out worldwide monitoring and provides around-the-clock awareness of the current situation.

The EU system for crisis management cope with the consequences that are caused by political or military conflict, technological incidents, man-made and natural disasters.

A hope was expressed that, the cooperation with the department will provide great assistance to Georgia in terms of crisis management.

The meeting was also attended by deputy head Crisis Response and Operational Coordination Department Stavros Petropoulos, Head of EU Delegation to Georgia Philip Dimitrov and
Secretary of the Council for State Security and Crisis Management Mindia Dzhanelidze.
