BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 18. Today, at COP29, an event dedicated to the implementation of Baku's Master Plan was held in the Multilevel Action and Urban Planning Pavilion, Trend reports.
Riad Gasimov, Head of Baku General Directorate for Architecture and Urban Planning under the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, shared insights on the key objectives and achievements of the plan.
The event was also attended by representatives from the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).
Riad Gasimov, highlighted that Baku's Master Plan was developed with consideration of global urban challenges and is focused on reducing environmental impact, ensuring energy efficiency, and promoting the development of "green" infrastructure. Speaking about the successful outcomes of the plan’s implementation, he emphasized that the actions taken are laying the groundwork for sustainable development, enhancing the quality of life for residents, and making the urban environment more inclusive and accessible.
