BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 18. Apple Distribution International Limited, knee-deep in the distribution and sale of services tied to the Apple ecosystem (App Store, iCloud, Apple Music, Apple TV+, and the like) in the Republic of Azerbaijan, has found itself on the electronic tax accounting list for VAT purposes, Trend reports via Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy.
According to the information, the company's VAT registration will kick in starting December 1 of this year. As per the rules laid out in the Tax Code, from this date forward, when shelling out for the services of Apple Distribution International Limited, banks will not be tacking on VAT to the bill for the buyer (citizens).
Apple Distribution International Limited VAT registration became possible due to the installation of the corresponding software (https://ecommerce.e-taxes.gov.az/). The portal was created following the provisions of the Tax Code and the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 387 dated 30.10.2023: “Procedure for tax registration, re-registration, and deregistration of a non-resident engaged in electronic commerce through the Internet information resource as a VAT payer, submission of VAT returns, and payment of VAT.”
The portal features a user-friendly interface encompassing non-resident tax accounting, VAT return submission, and payment oversight. The primary aim of the portal, developed in accordance with global trends, is to facilitate multinational corporations offering e-commerce services in the efficient and remote recording, declaration, and payment of VAT tax obligations in their operational countries, thereby generating economic value.
Apple Distribution International Limited is an Irish subsidiary of Apple, a prominent brand listed on the platform. Its primary duty is to disseminate products and services globally. This corporation mostly offers services within the Apple ecosystem (App Store, iCloud, Apple Music, Apple TV+, etc.).
The portal also presently accommodates applications for electronic tax accounting by other non-residents for VAT purposes.
