Georgia's Defense Minister, Irakli Alasania has made his first official visit to Italy.

Alasania will meet with his Italian counterpart, Roberta Pinotti, the Georgian Defense Ministry said on March 12.

The meeting's main topics will include: reforms in defense, participation of the Georgian contingent in the ISAF mission, and plans after the completion of peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan.

The parties will also discuss the deepening of Georgia-Italy military cooperation.

Georgian Defense Ministry's delegation will visit the Italian armed forces' officers club, the highest educational and scientific center of the Italian Defense Ministry, where the delegation will meet with cadets and officers.

Alasania and the persons accompanying him will also visit the flights center of the Italian air forces and become familiar with its work.
