BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 8. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye has extended its congratulations to Azerbaijan on November 8 - Victory Day, Trend reports.

The Turkish Ministry shared in a post on its official X page.

"We wholeheartedly congratulate Azerbaijan on the fourth anniversary of the liberation of Karabakh, the historic heart of the nation, from occupation. We pay tribute to the martyrs who gave their lives for this cause, and with deep gratitude, we honor the sacrifices of our veterans," the publication reads.

To note, Shusha city, which has great spiritual significance for the Azerbaijani people, was liberated from Armenian occupation during the 44-day Second Karabakh War on November 8, 2020. The liberation of the city of Shusha was the culmination of the 44-day Karabakh War. According to the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated December 3, 2020, November 8 is annually celebrated as Victory Day in the country.
