SHUSHA, Azerbaijan, November 8. Today, Victory Day and the Day of Shusha are being celebrated in unison, alongside the residents who have returned to the city, special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district Aydin Karimov told reporters, Trend reports.
Karimov emphasized that the liberation of Shusha symbolizes Azerbaijan's victory.
"On this Victory Day, we pay tribute to the memory of all our martyrs and extend our heartfelt wishes for good health to our ghazis. Today, Shusha is filled with a festive atmosphere," he said.
To note, Shusha city, which has great spiritual significance for the Azerbaijani people, was liberated from Armenian occupation during the 44-day Second Karabakh War on November 8, 2020. The liberation of the city of Shusha was the culmination of the 44-day Karabakh War. According to the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated December 3, 2020, November 8 is annually celebrated as Victory Day in the country.
