BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 7. Agricultural land in the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from the Armenian occupation will be leased to business entities via investment competitions, as per the procedures set forth by the pertinent executive authority, according to the new amendments deliberated in today's session of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Trend reports.
The proposed amendments to the law "On Land Lease" stipulate that agricultural land adjacent to settlements within the rural and village territorial units of the Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic regions will be leased to local residents for agricultural activities, including the cultivation of annual and perennial crops, under preferential conditions. The leasing procedure shall be governed by the appropriate executive authorities.
Following discussions, the draft law was put to a vote and adopted in its third reading.
