BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 7. The inauguration of the Azerbaijani House has taken place in the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, Trend reports via Azerbaijan's State Committee for Work with Diaspora.
It was also noted that representatives of the local public and diplomatic corps took part in the ceremony along with our compatriots living in this country.
The national anthems of Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic were sounded first. Then the participants of the event honored the memory of the martyrs with a minute of silence.
Coordinator of the Coordinating Council of Eastern Europe Azerbaijanis in the Czech Republic, chairperson of the “Natavan” Society, and head of the Azerbaijan House Leyla Begim Jafarova gave detailed information about the activities of the Society, as well as the Azerbaijani community in the Czech Republic.
Congratulating our compatriots on this significant event, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov noted that Azerbaijani Houses have been opened in 17 countries of the world to date.
“The inauguration of these houses is a vivid example of the care of the Azerbaijani state and President Ilham Aliyev for our compatriots living abroad. I believe that Azerbaijanis living here will achieve more success with the help of the Azerbaijani House in Prague, he noted.
Azerbaijani Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Czech Republic, Adish Mammadov, assessed the opening of the Azerbaijani House as a significant event and noted that Azerbaijanis living here have great potential for the promotion of our country.
Another coordinator of the Coordinating Council of Eastern Europe Azerbaijanis in the Czech Republic, head of Land of Fire organization Farid Amiraliyev, described the inauguration of the Azerbaijani House as a symbol of unity of our compatriots.
Representative of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, former ambassador of this country to Azerbaijan Milan Ekert, noted that the Azerbaijani House opened in Prague will be our home on a par with Azerbaijanis. He expressed confidence that the doors of this house would be open to everyone. Milan Ekert also congratulated the Azerbaijani people on November 8 - Victory Day.
Kazakh Ambassador to the Czech Republic Bakyt Dyussenbayev noted that the inauguration of the Azerbaijani House is an important event for the development of relations between the two countries, as well as for the representatives of Turkic peoples living here.
It was also mentioned that a weekend school is functioning within the Azerbaijani House. Lamiya Akhundova, who lives in Prague, expressed her pleasure at the opening of the school and noted that the weekend school is a great opportunity for my children to learn their native language. We are grateful to the State of Azerbaijan for giving us this opportunity.
Speakers expressed boundless pleasure on the occasion of the opening of the Azerbaijani House in Prague, saying this event is the most valuable gift of the Azerbaijani state to Czech Azerbaijanis.
The cultural part was also organized at the opening of the Azerbaijani House.
The performances of talented musician Janel Najafli, flutist Hana Zhitnikova, and pianist Lamiya Akhundova were greeted with applause.
The practice demonstrates that the services of Azerbaijani Houses are invaluable in bringing the truth about Azerbaijan to the world community, helping our compatriots to study our history, culture, and native language.
