SHUSHA, Azerbaijan, November 7. Participants of the Global Baku Summit of World Religious Leaders, held under the motto "World Religions for a Green Planet", have visited Khankendi and Shusha cities, Trend's Karabakh bureau reports.
The delegation first visited Victory Square in Khankendi, where the special representative of the President of Azerbaijan, Elchin Yusubov, provided information about the city.
The guests then proceeded to Shusha, where they visited Jidir Duzu, a location offering a beautiful view.
The Executive Director of the Shusha State Reserve Management, Tural Novruzov, shared details about Jidir Duzu with the delegation.
It was noted that since ancient times, equestrian competitions, Chovgan games, Novruz celebrations, and other folk festivals were held on Jidir Duzu.
The delegation members were also informed about the liberation of Shusha by the heroic Azerbaijani soldiers during the 44-day Second Karabakh War.
Today, Jydyr Duzu continues to serve as a venue for grand events, just as it did before the occupation.
Next, the participants of the Global Baku Summit of World Religious Leaders explored the Fortress Walls and central square of Shusha, where they saw the vandalized Armenian busts of prominent Azerbaijani figures such as Bulbul, Khurshidbanu Natavan, and Uzeyir Hajibeyli.
The guests were briefed on the history of Shusha, its condition during the occupation, and the reconstruction efforts underway in the city under the direct supervision of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva.
It was highlighted that during nearly 30 years of occupation, the city's historical buildings, mosques, and monuments were subjected to Armenian vandalism, and after its liberation, large-scale restoration and construction work began there.
Additionally, the delegation was informed that along with the infrastructure development, efforts were made to restore the historical appearance and cultural and historical monuments of Shusha.
