BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 7. Using the potential of Azerbaijan's Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur creates vital prospects not only for the growth of these regions but also for the development of the country's economy as a whole, Deputy Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) and Head of the Central Apparatus Tahir Budagov told reporters, Trend reports.

According to him, steps taken on demining territories, improving the environmental situation, restoring economic activity, and other areas within the framework of the 'Great Return' program [envisioning the return of former IDPs to Azerbaijani territories liberated during the 2020 Second Karabakh War and antiterrorist measures in September 2023] not only create a favorable basis for ensuring sustainable settlement, including quality living conditions by modern standards, but are also important in terms of the socially oriented economic development perspective.

"After the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty, significant political, socio-economic, and cultural-humanitarian challenges have emerged at this new stage. One of these is ensuring the 'Great Return' to the liberated territories, which is one of Azerbaijan's five national priorities until 2030. For this purpose, a corresponding state program has been adopted and is currently being successfully implemented.

The introduction of environmentally friendly technologies based on the green energy concept in the liberated territories, as one of the pressing challenges of our time, is crucial for the transition to a green economy, including the implementation of initiatives for a 'green world' and the deepening of international cooperation in actively combating the impacts of climate change," he added.
