BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 8. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has sent a congratulatory letter to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of November 8 - Victory Day, Trend reports.
"Dear Ilham Heydar oglu,
Dear brother,
I am greatly pleased to extend my heartfelt congratulations to you and, through you, to the brotherly people of Azerbaijan on your glorious holiday—Victory Day.
Four years ago, under your leadership—a devoted son of your people, a genius, patriotic, skilled statesman, and an outstanding personality—the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was fully restored, and historical justice was achieved.
Today, in the liberated cities and villages of Azerbaijan, large-scale reconstruction efforts are underway, modern infrastructure and cultural heritage sites are being rebuilt, thousands of former displaced persons are returning to their native lands, and new programs and socio-economic projects aimed at improving the standard of living of the population are being successfully implemented.
I have had the honor of witnessing these great transformations on several occasions and sharing in these achievements with you during my official visits. Undoubtedly, we will continue to work together, remaining committed to our shared language, history, traditions, and common goals. As a strategic partner, we take immense pride in the significant successes of the brotherly country of Azerbaijan.
Dear Ilham Heydar oglu, your resolute political will and systematic efforts to strengthen your country’s influence and position on the international stage are especially commendable.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that next week’s 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will take place in the beautiful city of Baku and bring together all the nations across the world, as well as the most influential international organizations, represents your great historic victory in foreign policy.
I am confident that this prestigious event will make significant strides in the fight against climate change and the reduction of its impacts, endorsing solutions and strategies to address global challenges, and further strengthening initiatives for the transition of the world's nations to a green economy.
I look forward to our productive discussions during the high-level meetings at the event, as well as to the new agreements on multilateral cooperation.
Taking this opportunity, I once again extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on Victory Day. I pray to Allah for your and all your loved ones’ good health, family happiness, and wish you success in your endeavors for the prosperity of your Motherland. I also wish the brotherly people of Azerbaijan peace, tranquility, well-being, and continuous development," the letter reads.
