BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 16. Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover in the first quarter of 2022 significantly increased compared to the same period of 2021, Trend reports via the National Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover from January through March totaled $2.1 billion, - an increase of 48 percent over the same period of 2021.
According to the statistical data, Kyrgyzstan’s imports amounted to $1.7 billion in the reporting period, which is an increase of 75 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
On the other hand, Kyrgyzstan’s exports in the first quarter of 2022 decreased by 13.6 percent compared to the reporting period of 2021 and totaled $367.1 million.
Meanwhile, the trade deficit in Kyrgyzstan from January through March 2022 amounted to $1.7 billion.
