BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 5. Azerbaijan demonstrates great efforts and strong political will in relation to the problem of climate change, the special representative of the Council of Europe Alexandre Guessel said at the plenary session "Religions of the world for a green planet" within the framework of the Global Summit of Religious Leaders in Baku, Trend reports.
He noted that climate change is an important issue that must be addressed to protect future generations.
“This issue jeopardizes fundamental human rights. Religions and beliefs are important to establish tolerance. The Council of Europe remains committed to its peacekeeping mission. Promoting interreligious dialogue in Europe and beyond is the main objective of our organization. The Council of Europe supports interreligious dialogue,” the special representative added.
