BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 5. In order to promote the energy initiatives of Azerbaijan's chairmanship at COP29, virtual information sessions were held on November 5 with the participation of Deputy Energy Minister Orkhan Zeynalov with the countries parties to the UN Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Trend reports via Azerbaijan's Ministry of Energy.
Meanwhile, it was noted that the purpose of the virtual briefings held jointly with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), the International Energy Agency (IEA), and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) are the energy initiatives of COP29 – "Green Energy Commitment: Green Energy Zones and Corridors", "Commitment to Global Energy Storage and Networks" and "COP29 Hydrogen Declaration" to inform countries in detail and discuss ways to join and support initiatives.
Over 200 participants from the public and private sectors, international organizations, and financial institutions took part in the two sessions held during the day.
