Azerbaijani first lady, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva has today inspected a newly-built chilren`s clinic of the National Oncology Center.

Azerbaijani first lady, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva has today inspected a newly-built chilren`s clinic of the National Oncology Center.

The four-storey state-of-the-art clinic occupies a total area of 5,200 hectares.

The clinic has diagnostic departments, two 30-bed treatment rooms, operating theatres and resuscitation facilities.

It also has a conference hall, archive department and service rooms.
The clinic is equipped with surveillance cameras.

Accompanied by director of the National Oncology Center Jamil Aliyev, the first lady toured the clinic.

Jamal Aliyev told the first lady that there were nearly 1,000 children suffering from cancer in the country.

There is a round-the-clock express laboratory in the clinic.

The facility also has a classroom for school children who get treatment here.
Mehriban Aliyeva viewed operating theatres and resuscitation rooms.

The first lady talked with 2-year-old Nuray Abdulrahmanly who had an eye surgery at the Zarifa Aliyeva National Ophthalmology Center 8 months ago. Mehriban Aliyeva gave the little patient a keepsake.

The first lady then talked with 11-year-old Zubanda Khalilova who is treated for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Mrs. Aliyeva gave the girl a keepsake. Zubanda`s mother thanked the first lady for her care and for creating all necessary conditions in the clinic. Mehriban Aliyeva posed for photographs together with Zubanda and her mother.

The first lady also talked with the clinic`s personnel to congratulate them on the facility`s opening and wish successes.
