Israel's anti-Iran threats violate IAEA's charter: Soltanieh

Islamic Republic of Iran's Ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Ali Asghar Soltanieh, said that the threats by Israel pertaining to attacking Iran's nuclear facilities are violation of IAEA's resolutions, IRNA reported.

Soltanieh made the remarks during his speech at a meeting of IAEA's board of governors.

He called on IAEA to break its silence with regard to the violations of IAEA's charter by Israel.

'As the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said, the Iranian nation has never been after nuclear weapon and they will never go after it in the future. It goes without saying that the decision-makers in the countries opposing our country are well aware that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers possessing nuclear weapons a sin in logical and religious terms,' Iranian ambassador added.

He pointed out that the valuable support of more than 100 member-states of the Non-Aligned Movement for about one decade from Iran's nuclear issue has a clear message which is the developing countries have the right to making use from nuclear energy for peaceful means and that the apartheid era and colonialism have come to an end.

'Islamic Republic of Iran believed in settling down the differences through constructive cooperation and holding fair negotiations. It has always respected the rights of other countries,' Soltanieh added.

He noted that assassinations of Iran's nuclear scientists in the 21st century were evident violation of charter of the United Nations.

'Sadly, the world witnessed that five Iranian nuclear scientists were assassinated by terrorists in the daylight,' Soltanieh said.
