NATO summer course begins at Georgia’s mountain training base

A summer course began at the Sachkhere Mountain Training base on Monday. Besides the future Georgian instructors, servicemen from the Czech Republic, Armenia and Hungary will also be involved in the exercises.

According to the Georgian Defense Ministry, the two-week exercises within NATO "Partnership for Peace" program consist of four phases. In the first stage, participants will practice already mastered skills and will be trained in mountain climbing.

It is planned to climb to a 4,100-meter peak in the Kazbegi region in the second stage. In the third stage, participants will take part in shooting practice at the Abuli high-mountain base. Finally, all participants will be tested.

A two-week interim summer course will end at Sachkhere base on September 27.
