BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 9. The 4th event of the "Discover Azerbaijan!" project took place in the Egyptian city of Qalubiya, in recognition of the declaration of 2024 as the "Green World Solidarity Year" in Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

The event was organized with the support of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora and at the initiative of Cairo-based diaspora activist Dr. Sadagat Aliashrafi.

Notable local community figures, leaders of influential companies and media organizations, students from the "Passion Zone" Academy, participants in the "Discover Azerbaijan!" project, and children in need of special care attended the event.

The event commenced with the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Egypt. In her welcoming remarks, project leader Sadagat Aliashrafi highlighted the strong ties between the two countries, grounded in mutual respect.

She recalled the official visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Egypt earlier this year and emphasized the efforts of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Egypt to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two nations. The "Discover Azerbaijan!" project serves as a testament to this commitment. Aliashrafi also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the State Committee for its invaluable support.

The owner and head of the "Passion Zone" Academy, Dr. Amal Suleiman noted the historical roots of the ties between the two countries and highlighted that the "Discover Azerbaijan!" project has been warmly embraced in Egypt.

The coordinator for Egypt at the Azerbaijani Coordinating Council for Arab Countries, Sabina Samedova shared that in April 2024, they visited the "Pioneer Integrated School" and "Seyidna Hadija" schools in Cairo, where they presented certificates and gifts to the winners. She also highlighted that the project will be rolled out across Egypt by the end of the year.

The event also featured recitations of poetry and musical performances in Azerbaijani.
