BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 8. The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov urged the CIS countries to join efforts to implement joint projects on the development of generation, commodity exchange of energy resources, and renewable energy sources, the statement of the press service of Kazakhstan's President said, Trend reports.
Sadyr Zhaparov stated this at the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS SGG) in a limited format in Moscow.
According to the President, these measures will strengthen the energy security of the region and reduce dependence on hydrocarbons.
Zhaparov noted that to increase the efficiency of renewable energy sources, it is necessary to introduce modern digital technologies and develop a common program for the introduction of smart grids in the CIS countries, which will improve the management of energy systems, optimize the distribution of resources, and minimize losses.
The President also pointed out that Kyrgyzstan aims to further increase multifaceted cooperation within the CIS, increase mutual trade, develop and improve transportation and logistics routes, and create joint projects in industrial cooperation, agriculture, infrastructure, and other areas.
“We are also interested in working together to ensure food and energy security, as well as access to new advanced technologies and innovations,” the head of state stated.
Zhaparov proposed paying special attention to the development of the agro-industrial complex, referring to the agro-industrial base of the CIS states, which allows them to provide themselves with the necessary products and reduce imports.
