Baku, Azerbaijan, June 2
By Emin Aliyev - Trend:
The draft agreement on mutual promotion and protection of investments between Azerbaijan and Russia is ready and will be signed in the near future, according to Russian Economic Development Minister, Alexei Ulyukayev.
"The draft document is ready and will be finalized by late June, and the signing can take place in July," Ulyukayev said speaking to reporters in Baku on June 2.
He went on to add that the parties have been moving towards this agreement for a very long time.
"The work took several years, the parties exchanged letters, but the process was moving slowly. During the meeting with my Azerbaijani counterpart, we removed all the contentious issues. We just needed to sit and talk. I am sure the signing of this agreement will spur the trade turnover and the exchange of mutual investments," the minister stressed.
